“Our long-term artistic aim has been to create space for contemporary and less familiar music from the 20th and 21st centuries, and to contribute towards a deeper understanding of it. Alongside the music by composers from various parts of Europe which we have focused on in recent years, we are now turning our attention to the music of our own country. Slovak music, which has undergone rapid and extensive changes since the beginning of the 20th century, is immensely rich, diverse, bold, extroverted, confrontational, introspective, reflective, intimate, and above all infinitely varied. By presenting it in high-quality performances, which we consider essential, we seek to raise awareness of our country’s music, and to support its continuity and survival at a time when the value of art is under threat…” Milan Paľa and Katarína Paľová
