After a long 35 years, the celebrated American conductor, composer and musical visionary David Robertson returns to the Filharmonie Brno. At the start of the 1990s he worked on several projects with Filharmonie Brno, and each one was a remarkable artistic and programming success: under his baton, Olivier Messiaen’s From the Canyons to the Stars was performed (in its Czech and Slovak premiere), along with works by Leoš Janáček and Bohuslav Martinů, as well as Arthur Honegger’s symphonic psalm King David. This same exceptional quality will undoubtedly be true of the concerts conducted by David Robertson on his return to Brno, featuring profound, deeply introspective works by Alfred Schnittke and Anton Bruckner. The soloist will be Eva Krestová, principal violist of the Czech Philharmonic.
