The Memory of Nations Institute with an exhibition and cafe is a place where generations meet.

The Memory of Nations Institute offers a modern exhibition full of technology and true stories from the 20th century that will bring our history closer to young people in particular. In addition, the institute organizes public discussions and lectures, runs educational programmes for schools and others, and operates a studio to record witnesses’ stories.

The Silent Heroism exhibition leads visitors through the 20th century and tells true stories from witnesses. The digital guide and the exhibition’s chosen technology draw you directly into the past through a panoramic projection, augmented reality, touch screens, and diaries. The Brno institute includes the Memory of Nations Café, where guests can enjoy the “strongest coffee in Brno”. The cafe offers a blend of excellent coffee, a varied cultural programme, and primarily history through powerful stories from the Memory of Nations collection, one of the largest collections of oral history in Europe. The cafe also serves as a shop and a pick-up location for the Memory of Nations online shop.

You can find the institute in the city centre next to the Old Town Hall. The Renaissance building at Radnická 10 offers halls suitable for exhibitions and also screenings, lectures, and other cultural events.
