Centre-stage in this performance is Iancu Dumitrescu, one of the key figures of the Romanian spectral tradition, who will lead the Brno ensemble Dust in the Groove together with guest musicians, including Romanian vocalist Claudia Cervenca. The Romanians offer a distinct alternative to the French spectral school; their approach is based on intuitive work with sonic energy, spontaneous interaction among performers and open musical forms. During the evening, these principles are developed further through artificial intelligence systems that become the virtual partners of the musicians. Alongside the interactions amid the live performers, a multi-layered network of relationships emerges between human and digital agents, where sonic processes evolve through spontaneous reactions, mutual influence and shared improvisation.
