Sounds and tastes of Mexico

This program offers a sonic journey through Mexico, bringing together classical and electric guitar. It features original compositions by Omar Rojas, arrangements of public-domain works from the Mexican musical tradition, and pieces from the classical repertoire adapted for electric guitar and performed by Clara Rojas Ruizova.

Most of the original compositions evoke the soundscapes of Mexican cities and different corners of the country: echoes of the streets, everyday rhythms, atmospheres, and contrasts. Moving between traditional musical colors, shared memories, and contemporary sounds, the program invites listeners to immerse themselves in the many shades of present-day Mexico, where the intimate and the collective, the familiar and the unexpected coexist. The dialogue between the two instruments opens up new listening perspectives, building a bridge between musical heritage, everyday life, and sonic exploration.
