The British organist, harpsichordist, conductor and musicologist John Butt is the Music Director of the Dunedin Consort, and Principal Artist of the legendary Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. He appeared with this orchestra at the Moravian Autumn festival in October 2025, captivating Brno audiences with a thrilling performance of Solomon. As both a performer and scholar, Butt specialises in seventeenth and eighteenth-century music, with particular focus on Johann Sebastian Bach. His interests extend far beyond Bach, however, as this recital programme will show. In the first half of the evening he will perform at the harpsichord, while in the second half he will take his place at the organ. For Bach’s sonatas, he will be joined by our very own Lukáš Polák and Martin Pavlík.
