Clemens Christian Poetzsch – NOCTUNES: Solo Piano Concert
Clemens Christian Poetzsch returns to Brno, this time with music dedicated to the night. Following concerts at Sál Milosrdných bratří in 2024 and Besední dům in 2025, he presents his new album, NOCTUNES, at Brno Conservatoire.
Once a concert is over, the German pianist and composer has time to discover the city his music has brought him to. Night-time walks, encounters and small impressions gathered on the road became eleven piano miniatures. Each holds a memory of a particular place, including Prague.
NOCTUNES is a personal reimagining of the nocturne tradition shaped by John Field and Frédéric Chopin. Poetzsch develops it through a jazz sensibility, improvisation and contemporary form. Lyrical melodies and shifting harmonies give the night a sound, leaving listeners space for images of their own.
This acoustic solo concert takes place at the Leoš Janáček Concert Hall at Brno Conservatoire, where musical experience passes from one generation to the next. A contemporary composer brings his own approach to composition and musical freedom into the school founded by Janáček.
